Hello and Welcome to my electronic portfolio. My name is Nathan Maas, and I will be your host during your time here. I would like to introduce myself and tell you why and how I came to the career of Social Studies Education before you get any further.
I live in Owatonna, Minnesota with my wife Emily, and our two children, Sabella and Sofia. I love my family, my country and of course, my Minnesota Twins, Timberwolves, and Vikings!
Before I decided to become a teacher, I studied at MSU and received a B.A. in Economics with a minor in Political Science before finding what I thought was a dream job as a financial advisor. After becoming dissatisfied with my career in the financial sales industry, I decided to go back to school and follow my passion.I have picked up some experience, knowledge and life lessons on my way here. I am so excited to have the opportunity to share my thirst for knowledge with young adults. I hope to help students understand more about economics, history, culture, and how it relates to the world around us.
